Im Mai 2009 suchte der Zyklon Aila West-Bengalen und Bangladesch heim und hinterließ 330 Tote sowie eine Million Obdachlose. Zehn Tage lang wurden medizinische Camps abgehalten, wobei Ärzte von Embracing the World ungefähr 3.000 Menschen behandelten und Medikamente im Wert von € 1.500 kostenlos ausgaben. Freiwillige Helfer von Embracing the World verteilten circa 800 Kleidungsstücke und Decken, gaben 6.000 Essen aus und verschenkten zwei Tonnen Reis.
